Abstract

The purpose of the pilot overview presentation is to briefly describe the Icelandic eENVplus pilot. The pilot contains two major topics:

data harmonization and servicing (INSPIRE Geoportal);

collecting (using crowdsourcing) nature conservation data in Iceland via mobile application.

Our first priority was to demonstrate our ability to fulfil INSPIRE requirements for metadata, spatial data and services. Then, to create a mobile application functionality for our pilot. The mobile application itself was developed and tested by the eENVplus technical partner Fondazione Graphitech.

The Pilot overview material is presented in a .ppt file and is a self-learning module.

Structure
The module consists of 2 main parts:
  • Harmonizing National data;
  • Collecting nature conservation data using eENVplus mobile application.
Learning outcomes

The training participant will familiarize himself/herself with the structure and outcomes of the Icelandic pilot and its objectives.

He or she will also learn about the mobile application, its functionality and intended use.

Note that the specifics of using the mobile application (user registration, enabling GPS, using the app offline and other particularities) are described in the developer’s training material: „MOBILE MAPPING AND ADVANCED VISUALIZATION“ – created by Umberto di Staso and Alessio Giori (Fondazione Graphitech).
